While not many people listen to the radio these days, radio plays were once a popular form of entertainment that enthralled thousands of audience members across America. This October, our Acting I students studied ways to care for and maintain their voice, as well as ways they could use their voice to create a character. Students studied the radio play genre by reading and listening to the infamous performance of Orson Welles' "War of the Worlds" - a Halloween broadcast that was so realistic, it caused mass panic across the country for listeners who failed to realize that the performance was actors reading a script, and not the evening news.

This project culminated in a "five minute mystery" - a radio play in the style of a 1930's murder mystery, just in time to celebrate Halloween. We hope you enjoy this performance which was recorded and edited by Meg Gardner (grade 10), Kota Dewar (grade 9), Cameron D'Alleva (grade 12), and Lucas Randazzo (grade 12).
