PATHWAY

The Theatre Arts Pathway is designed for students to experience all that theatre has to offer, from Theatre History to behind the scenes production to learning a variety of performance techniques.

All students who choose to take the Theatre Pathway begin with Foundations of Theatre, where they learn the Elements of Drama, the origins of theatre, monologue performance, and beginner's playwriting. After taking this foundational course, students are welcome to take any of the electives listed.

For students who are interested in enhancing their performance skills, we offer Acting I, Acting II, Improvisation, Voice in Acting, and Movement for Theatre. For those interested in pursuing theatre production, we offer Theatrical Design & AV Stage Tech to give students experience in mounting a production, from script analysis to design and implementation. Students in the Fine Arts Academy Theatre Pathway collaborate on the three shows that are produced every year on the HHS stage.

Students finish their theatre pathway with a year long course in Pre-AP theatre, where they use their cumulative skills to create original work.
